Help Your Skin Survive the Dry Air

Between the dry air, bitter cold, and overheated rooms, it seems like we make it impossible for our skin to be anything but dry and itchy.  What are some things we can do to help protect our skin during the cold months?

Using a humidifier at home can help bring moisture into the air, reducing the dryness and static that the dry winter air brings.

Use lotion and moisturizer.  After getting out of the bath or shower apply a moisturizer to your skin to help retain the moister from your bath.

Use intensive hand creams for those dry cracked knuckles and over-dry hands, reapplying the cream after each washing of the hands.

And one more simple tip.  When bathing, use warm water and keep them nice and short to around ten minutes.

Practicing these quick, easy steps will help your skin survive the cold, dry season.
